E' permesso?...

Non posso credere che sia passato oltre un anno dal mio ultimo post. Il fatto è che a novembre dello scorso anno è arrivata una notizia che ci ha sconvolto la vita, in positivo s'intende, ma che non mi ha più lasciato tempo per le mie passioni.

E' infatti arrivata lei...

Questo è il biglietto con cui annunciavamo a parenti ed amici il suo arrivo. L'interno diceva:

"Cari ...,

mi chiamo Ramata, 

ho due anni e mezzo 

e non vedo l'ora di abbracciarvi.

xxx Ramata"

E così questo blog prenderà un'inclinazione diversa. Spero ci saranno di nuovo mie creazioni, ma soprattutto ci saranno creazioni per Lei :)

I cannot believe over one year has passed since my last post. The fact is that in November last year an incredible news arrived and our lives have been overturned...in positive obviously. But since then I had no longer time for my creations.
And so "suddenly" she arrived...
The above pic is the card which we announced her arrival to parents and friends with. The inside told:

"Dear...,

my name is Ramata, 

I'm 2,5 years 

and I'm looking forward to hug you.

xxx Ramata"

And so this blog will change a little bit. I hope still to be able to post my creations, but mostly they will be my creations for Her :)

Biglietto per i 10 anni di Carla e Ale

A metà settembre arriva un whatsup di Carla in cui invita parenti e amici a festeggiare con loro i primi 10 anni di matrimonio. Nonostante la distanza, non ci abbiamo pensato neanche un attimo. E così, domenica 28 settembre, partiamo alle 6,00 alla volta di Incisa Valdarno. Arriviamo puntuali per la messa e poi tutti a casa loro, dove troviamo il patio allestito a festa con tavoli, gazebo e ogni ben di Dio di pietanza. E' stata una giornata bellissima, trascorsa tra amici, chiacchiere e abbracci.

Ad accompagnare il regalo non poteva mancare una card fatta da me.

Non ne ho fatte molte, ma devo dire che mi diverte molto farle.

Mid-September I received a whatsup by Carla, who was inviting relatives and friends to celebrate with them their 10th Wedding anniversary. Although we live far away, we didn't think a minute. So, the 28th September, we got up early and we headed towards Incisa Valdarno. We arrived on time for the Mess and then all together we went to their house, where they marvellously set-up their patio with tables, chiars, gazebos and any kind of food you could imagine. It has been a wonderful day with friends, among hugs and chats.
To accompany our present it couldn't miss one of my card. I'm not that used to card making, but I have to admit that I enjoy a lot doing it.

Collana insolita...unusual necklace

Cerchi di passe-partout, carta pentagrammata, un charm brunito a forma di cuore, una catena semplice semplice brunita....un pò di colla, della vernice di finitura, due buchini ed ecco la mia collana "résonnance".

Adoro sperimentare nuove tecniche, giocare con colori, utilizzare nuovi materiali e trasformare così quelli più poveri in qualcosa di prezioso.

Mi piace così tanto la mia nuova creazione che non me la toglierei mai...

Circles of passe-partout, staffed paper, a bronzed heart-shaped charm, a very simple bronzed chain...a bit of glue, some finishing, two small holes and here it is my new "rénossance" necklace.

I love experimenting new techniques, playing with colors, using new materials and transforming the poorest ones into something precious.

I like my new creation so much that I wouldn't stop wearing it.

Innovation...an e-book reader for kiki

Ho sempre amato la carta stampata. 

Mi piace l'odore dei libri nuovi.

Mi piace sfogliarli.

Mi piace sottolinaere le frasi che più mi colpiscono e, di tanto in tanto, andarmele a rileggere.

Mi piace quando alla fine di un libro lo ripongo stropicciato nella libreria.

Mi piace ritrovarvi dentro granelli di sabbia o fili d'erba, indice del luogo dove ho letto quel libro.

Mi piace imprimere sulle prime pagine luogo e data di lettura.

Mi piace...e potrei andare avanti all'infinito, tanto è bella la sensazione di avere un libro tra le mani...

Ma i tempi cambiano, le tecnologie avanzano e sebbene abbia sempre sostenuto che mai mi sarei piegata all'e-book reader, eccomi invece qui a confessare che anch'io l'ho fatto. In realtà è stato F. a regalarmelo in occasione di un nostro weekend lungo in Toscana.

E devo dire che dopo un inizio di rifiuto, ho incominciato ad apprezzare le potenzialità e comodità del mio Kobo Aura.

E' leggerissimo e me lo porto sempre dietro.

Non si rovina.

Contiene migliaia di titoli, così in vacanza non dovrò più preoccuparmi di preparare un bagaglio apposta solo per i libri (ricordo un viaggio in Toscana e della borsa con 8 libri che ci siamo portati appresso...).

A letto è una goduria, perché lo sostieni con due dita di una mano e d'inverno l'altra potrà nascondersi al calduccio sotto le coperte.

And last but not least...visto che lo spazio in casa è sempre meno e ogni anno dobbiamo fare spazio sulla libreria portando i libri dai miei genitori (un dolore attroce per me che vorrei i miei libri sempre con me), il Kobo è una pratica soluzione salva-spazio :)

Ovviamente non poteva rimanere "nudo" a lungo e così ecco la versione estiva e su misura del mio porta-kobo, realizzato con stoffe Ikea.

I've always loved printed paper.

I love the smell of new books.

I love flipping through the pages.

I love underlining the sentences that move me more and, from time to time, go back and read them again.

I love when, at the end of the book, I put it all creased on the shelf.

I love finding inside grains of sand or blades of grass, sign of the place where I read it.

I love printing on the first page date and place where I read the book.

I love...and I could continue to infinity, so much is the pleasure to hold a book in my hands...

But times change, technology moves forward and althought I've always said I wouldn't yield to e-book readers, here I am now to confess I did it. Actually it has been a present by F. in occasion of our last long weekend in Tuscany.

And I must admit, that after the first rejection, I started to appreciate its potentialities and the comforts of my new Kobo Aura.

It is really light and I can bring it anywhere.

It doesn't get ruined.

It can hold thousands of titles, so that on holiday I don't have to worry anymore to prepare an extra bag for books (I remember an holiday in Tuscany, for which I brought a bag with 8 books in it...).

In the bed it is super, because you can hold it with 2 fingers, while the other hand can be hidden comfortably under the duvet.

And last but not least...it saves a lot of space. As our home is not that big and we like reading a lot, every year we have to bring some at my parents' place (and I hate to split up from my books).

Obviously it couldn't remain "nake" for a long time, so I took some Ikea fabric and sew the summer version of my e-book reader case.

Amore felino...Cat Love

Chi mi conosce sa che ho un debole per i gatti. Il mio Neo è il Re indiscusso della casa e guai se non ci fosse. Dorme nei posti più disparati (l'ultimo in ordine cronologico è stato in una cassetta dove cresceva la valeriana!!!), si nasconde nei meandri più nascosti della casa, ci fa tante coccole ed è un gran chiacchierone...non so se siamo stati fortunati o è così perché comunque noi gli diamo molto amore.

Il suo è un amore incondizionato e noi siamo follemente innamorati di lui.

Così qualche mese fa, quando ho visto la fustella del gatto, non ho saputo resistere e l'ho comprata.

È rimasta inutilizzata fino ad ora perché non avevo progetti in mente. Poi, dopo aver fatto il portachiavi "canino" per Gabry, mi è venuta l'idea di sostituire il mio vecchio portachiavi con uno "felino".

Mi è ovviamente venuto in aiuto il caro Polyshrink...qualche decorazione verde (il mio colore preferito), ed il nuovo portachiavi è pronto.

Everybody knows I love cats. Mine, Neo, is the undisputed King of the house and I couldn't think my home without him. He sleeps in the most unpredictable places (the very last one is the box where was growing valerian salad!!!), he hides in the most remoted corners, he cuddles us with Love and he is a very chatty cat...I don't know if we have been lucky or he is so adorable because we give him so much Love.

His is an unconditional love and we are terribly in love with him.

So few months ago, when I saw the CAT cutting die, I couldn't resist. It had to be mine and I bought it.

It remained unused for several time as I didn't have any project in mind. Then, after having created the "doggy" keyring for Gabry, I had the idea to do one for me, but a "catlike" one.

I couldn't but use my friend Polyshrink...some green beads (my favorite color) and here it is my new keyring.

Di Corso in Corso...il Paradiso!!!

Mercoledì scorso F. è andato in quel di Como per lavoro. Con nonchalance, e senza sperare davvero che ci andasse, ho buttato lì un "c'è un negozio che pare sia strapieno di fustelle e super-duper per tutto lo scrapbooking" e gli mando via mail il link di googlemaps.

Last Wednesday F. went to Como for working reasons. With nonchalance and not really thinking he would have gone, I said "there's a shop in Como that is supposed to be so cool; full of dies and super-duper for scrapbooking" and sent him the googlemaps link with the address.

Intorno alle 10,30 mi chiama. Era appena uscito dal negozio dopo più di mezz'ora di permanenza, durante la quale mi dice aver ricevuto un sacco di input, aver visto migliaia di fustelle e idee stupende che lo hanno lasciato letteralmente a bocca aperta. Per farla breve mi ha tenuto al telefono quasi un'ora parlando entusiasta (a lui che non interessa il genere) di questo negozio e che mi doveva assolutamente portare.

Around 10,30 am he calls me. He had just come out of the shop after over half an hour inside, during which he has been overwhelmed by gorgeous ideas, thousands of cutting dies and cute inputs that left him open-mouthed. In short we stay nearly an hour on the phone; he was so enthusiastic of this shop (and he really isn't that interested in the gendre) that he said we would have had to go there very soon.

Sabato sveglia di buona lena e alle 9,00 siamo già davanti al negozio, che però apre solo alle 9,30. Sob! Giretto per Como per colazione in riva al lago e ritorno al negozio.

Beh...che dire...in realtà ti lascia abbastanza senza parole. Ho passato la prima mezz'ora a passare da un locale all'altro senza posa. Prendevo in mano timbri, fustelle, carte, perle, senza combinare nulla.

So on Saturday we got up early and at 9 am we were already in front of the STILL CLOSED shop...ups...it was opening at 9,30 am. We had a short stroll in como, we had our breakfast and then back to the shop.
Well...what can I say?...actually it really leaves you open-mouthed. I spent the first half an hour going restless from a room to another. I looked at rubber-stamps, cutting dies, papers, beads without coming to a point.

Allora ho deciso di passare a setaccio razionalmente un locale alla volta. Ci sono volute oltre due ore e avrei potuto anche restarci tutto il giorno, eh, ma il portafoglio ad un certo punto ha detto stop e ho dovuto arrendermi.

Al di là degli acquisti (tanti!), è stata un'esperienza ricca di spunti. E' un posto dove respiri creatività e scopri mondi paralleli che non credevi esistessero...un vero Paradiso per qualsiasi creativa!

Ad epilogo dell'esperienza, mio marito che dice "menomale abitiamo lontano da Como!"...ahahahaha!!!

So I decided to pass rationally one room at a time. It took me over 2 hours and I could have spent there the whole day...unfortunately, at a certain point, my wallet said "STOP IT!".
Besides the very good shopping, it has been an extremely rich experience. Di Corso in Corso is a place where you breath creativity and discover parallel worlds that you didn't even think that existed....a real Heaven for every creative talent!
At the end of this emotional experience, my husband brought me back to heart saying "Thanks God we do not live in Como!"....ahahahaha!!!

Tra tutti i social network, Pinterest è senz'altro il mio preferito.

Capita che non lo apra per settimane, ma quando ci entro non smetterei mai di pinnare.

Qualsiasi cosa uno desideri, su Pinterest la trova. Ma cos'è esattamente? È una sorta di bacheca, che può essere organizzata in cartelle secondo gli argomenti più disparati, in base alle preferenze ed interessi di ognuno. È un modo per condividere nuovi contenuti e/o immagini con gli altri, che siano essi personali o trovati online.

Per me è un'inesauribile fonte di ispirazione e a mia volta, nella mia piccola bacheca "my creations", spero di essere d'ispirazione a qualcuno.

Among all social networks, Pinterest is with no doubt my favorite.
I might not opening it for weeks, but when I do it I wouldn't stop pinning.
Whatever you desire, you find it on Pinterest. But what is exactly? it is a sort of notice board, that can be organized in specific boards according to what you like, of anything you wish. It is an easy way to find and  share cute ideas with other people.
For me is an unlimited source of inspiration and I hope, in my simple way throught "my creations", to inspire others.
